Ana Gelabert-Sanchez (LF ’11, MLA) was selected to be part of a team of international advisors working with Zhuhai, China, to assist the city in becoming “one of the most habitable environmentally friendly waterside cities in Asia.” The appointment was made at the Zhuhai Waterside Yachting Industry Planning & Investment Seminar in May.
The new Zhuhai Waterfront Yachting Industry Development Strategic Plan addresses infrastructure, market cultivation, resource integration, and finance. Gelabert sees similarities between Zhuhai and Miami, where she was planning director from 1998 to 2010. She’s well qualified to help the city craft rules, environmental requirements and design guidelines that will preserve the environment and distinct urban character of the city.
